Including Family Members
You can bring your loved ones with you on a Subclass 482 Skills in Demand Visa.
For this visa, eligible family members include:
- Your spouse or de facto partner
- Your or your partner’s child or stepchild who:
- Is under 23 years old, and not engaged, married, or in a de facto relationship
- Is 23 years or older but fully or mostly financially dependent on you or your partner due to a partial or total physical or mental disability
Workforce Mobility Enhancements
Starting July 1, 2024, holders of TSS, SID, and other temporary work visas can benefit from:
- Flexibility to work in various occupations while securing new sponsorship.
- A job search period extended to 180 days.
- Up to 365 days of total employment with different sponsors while maintaining compliance.
These reforms aim to protect visa holders from exploitation and provide greater flexibility without compromising program integrity.
Changes to Permanent Residency Pathways (Subclass 186)
A notable improvement is the inclusion of all full-time sponsored work undertaken in Australia toward the two-year experience requirement for the Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) visa. Previously, only employment under the same sponsor counted, but now time with different employers is also recognized.
